Happy 2015!

Happy 2015 everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and New Year with your loved ones. I had the most fun-filled Christmas with my wonderful family and my fiancé’s family! It was our first time hosting it in our lovely home and I prepared a feast for everyone. I enjoyed every minute of it. Plenty of eating, drinking and laughing involved!

Easy pot roast beef – Martha Stewart’s recipe. Although I made mine sweet and spicy – definitely not a traditional pot roast! This was very popular that night – gone in seconds! Cooking time: 4hrs

Maligayang Kaarawan (Happy Birthday)

I thought it would be nice to put my birthday entry as a first for this year! I’m 26 today!

I’m happy! I could say I’m contented.

To be honest, when my loved ones asked me what I want for my birthday, it was the first time for me to answer “Hmm… I don’t actually know”.  It was contentment I guess. I couldn’t think of anything that I want need. None at all. Don’t get me wrong, I do want a lot of stuff. You know, an Instax, a new (compact dslr), a low-cut Dm’s, Marc Jacobs’ wallet (I lost my one and only wallet – I had it for more than 3yrs!), Clarisonic Mia2, the list will go on and on. But, I don’t need those stuff. Maybe a year older; a year wiser (?).

To all of you lovely people (you know who are you!), thank you so much for making my birthday even more special with all your wonderful wishes! Thank you for my wonderful partner who made my day extra extra special! He actually started my birthday weekend on Friday! I’ve been really spoilt. Thanks Honey! I love you more and more each day.

Thank you to my mum, my wonderful partner and my lovely brother for my new iPad mini – definitely one of the most useful gifts I’ve received! I couldn’t put down that thing! If you have an iPad, what free app you can’t stop using?

**********

This is the start of my wall art! I bought lots of canvases to turn into DIY wall art and I’m currently on the lookout for a cheap and vintage frame. I’m excited! Thank you Pinterest! (username: sarrrs)

I hope everyone will have a great week ahead of them!

In Black and White: Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreign

So what does ‘foreign’ means to me exactly? My initial thought was “a foreign place”. I live in the UK and visiting Norway was such an amazing experience for me. Yes, this post will be about a foreign place but it’s also about my unfamiliar experiences toward certain things. This is a good kind of unfamiliarity. When my partner and I visited Holmenkollen, we dropped-in on the ski museum. The exhibition that day exuded a great length of positivity for me and an unfamiliarity in a way, because it was my first time seeing those equipments and such an inspirational first-hand experience.

Throughout the exhibition, this message was at the back of my mind, “If there’s a will, there’s a way”. Everything is possible. I’m well aware of Paralympics and those awe-inspiring athletes but this exhibition was truly sensational and memorable for me.

To keep it short, “Is it possible?!” is an exhibition about athletes with physical disabilities. You can click on the link to read more about it. Here are my favourite photos in black and white. I’m still practising my black and white shots so be nice. Enjoy!
